Akshay Kumar will be back on the big screen with Kesari Chapter 2: The Untold Story of Jallianwala Bagh. It is a historical courtroom drama directed by Karan Singh Tyagi. The movie also stars R Madhavan and Ananya Panday in key roles. The film is based on real-life incident of Jallianwala Bagh massacre and the legal battle fought by C Shankaran Nair to bring justice to the victims. The teaser drew a lot of attention and piqued the interest of the films. Recently, a special screening of the film was held in Delhi that was also attended by Chief Minister Rekha Gupta. Post the screening of Akshay Kumar’s Kesari 2, CM Rekha Gupta spoke to the media and revealed that the film left her emotional. She said, “This film gives you goosebumps as it portrays how a bloody Baisakhi was observed that day at Jallianwala Bagh, and how millions sacrificed their lives for the country’s freedom, only to be lost in the pages of history… we don’t even know their names. And yet, we are able to breathe freely in an independent nation today because of them.” Further she added that it is everyone’s duty to live for our motherland and do something for India. Not just this, she even took to her social media account to pen the review of Kesari 2. She wrote that the movie portrays patriotism, valour and sacrifice in a very impressive manner. She sent her best wishes to the cast and team and wrote that each scene in the film demonstrates pride and inspiration.

Akshay Kumar’s good friend and Asin’s husband Rahul Sharma too penned a note for Kesari 2 stating that the film left him deeply moved. He even stated that it deserves a national award. The reviews have made headlines in entertainment news.

Kesari 2: The Untold Story of Jallianwala Bagh is going to release on April 18. The advance ticket sales of the film are now open.
