US to revoke all visas for South Sudanese over repatriation row

Washington is to revoke all visas held by South Sudanese passport holders — and block new arrivals — over South Sudan’s failure to accept the return of its repatriated citizens, Secretary of State Marco Rubio said Saturday. The decision comes at a time when many in Africa fear a renewal of the civil war that killed 400,000 people between 2013 and 2018.
